Meet The team

Theo Millward

Managing Director

Having returned from life in London 6 years ago, Theo was looking for a chance to meet new people. Following a recommendation from a former singing teacher, Theo was sent in the direction of Alex Hinton, joint founder and Director of Mad Cow Productions. With his first production, Theo fell in love with the challenge, joy and opportunity of being on stage. Many productions on, Theo is still loving every moment of learning this exciting and vibrant craft. Being a member of Mad Cow Productions has given Theo the chance to learn tap dancing, roller skating, singing and acting.

Outside of productions, Theo is Managing Director and Owner of Swimtime UK Ltd, the largest independent provider of Swimming Lessons in the UK teaching over 17,000 children to Swim every week.

Having experienced the huge value that Performing Arts has given Theo in his commercial life, he saw an opportunity to share his love and belief for the wonders of the Theatre with Children across the UK.

Alex Hinton

Creative Consultant

Alex Hinton, from North Yorkshire, spent a happy childhood riding various ponies and horses over that county's moors and beaches.

Looking back she was very lucky, being a huge tomboy, that her dad (trying to make her more of a daughter than a son) encouraged her to study ballet and drama and in doing so introduced her to a lifelong passion: The Theatre. So drama became her other love and she took part in every school show she could from Shakespeare to Musical Theatre. She even had a musical written for her!

Alex’s childhood Musical Theatre teachers were passionate knowledgeable practitioners and she clearly remembers the excitement of going to class every week; the fun had and the life skills acquired.

A graduate of Newcastle Upon Tyne University (BA (hons) English Lit) she completed her PGCE at Leeds University. From there on Alex taught English and Drama in a variety of schools, from idyllic country comprehensives to some more challenging children in large inner city ones. But wherever she taught, Drama was a great communicator enabling the able and less able to progress through life.

More recently Alex, and her partner in crime Lisa Lowarch, has devoted over a decade of her life to creating a high quality Amateur Theatre Company, Mad Cow Productions, that upholds the values of her youth. That is providing high quality tuition from properly qualified practitioners for the adults of Shropshire. MCP has gathered Civic Awards (for their Outstanding Contribution to the local community) as well as a great Shropshire reputation for high quality at an affordable price.

All this meant that when Theo, one of Alex’s Mad Cow “Herd” approached her to join him in passing these values forward to the wider public and help educate a new generation of children in a subject she loves the answer was a delighted “yes!”.
