Getting to Know me!

Katie Burke

Where are you from?

What's your favourite type of music?

I have such a mixed taste in music but I really love 60's music at the minute. It's up-beat and

catchy and the ballads are so soulful.

What three songs do you listen to the most?

Come Together - The Beatles

Million Reasons - Lady Gaga

Feel It Still - Portugal. The Man

What was the last TV series you saw? Did you enjoy it?

Stranger Things. Very good and the young actors were very inspiring.

What was the last live performance you saw? Did you enjoy it?

I went to see The Adams Family musical at The Lowry in Salford. I loved the music and couldn't stop playing it for weeks after.

What's your most used/ favourite app on your phone?

I have an app called Line Learner. It's a life saver for helping me learn all my lines so I'm always using that for various scripts.

Who is your favourite performer?

Lady Gaga. I think she's just so brave and inspiring with her music and performances.

What's your favourite TV series?

Doctor Foster. I was hooked and the acting was phenomenal!

What's your favourite musical?

Phantom of the Opera. I would love to play Christine one day!

What's your favourite song from a musical?

'Fabulous Baby' from Sister Act. It's just so fun and sassy.

What made you start performing?

I went to see a pantomime when I was about 4 years old and I just wanted to get up on the stage with them! So my mum sent me to a local dance school and it went from there really.

Finally, give a funny/ interesting story about a performance you have given...

I was in my final year at Liverpool Theatre School doing a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers style tap number in this long, floaty off the shoulder dress. I was right at the front centre stage and as I was dancing I could slowly feel my dress falling down and I had no choice but to quickly yank it up in the middle of the dance to save my modesty. Very embarrassing!
