Getting to Know me!
Where are you from?
What's your favourite type of music?
I really enjoy most genres of music. Anything I can dance too!
What three songs do you listen to the most?
Cilla Black – Anyone Who Had a Heart, Beyoncé – Beautiful Liar, Sutton Foster – Astonishing
What was the last TV series you saw? Did you enjoy it?
I recently watched a new series called Queen Victoria. It was so interesting and full of juicy
drama. Jenna Coleman was cast as the Queen and played a brilliant part.
What was the last live performance you saw? Did you enjoy it?
I watched Cirque Du Soleil, Zumanity in Las Vegas. It was a dream of my mine to see it and it did not disappoint. It was amazing!
What's your most used/ favourite app on your phone?
I am a newbie to Twitter but I am glued to it.
Who is your favourite performer?
What's your favourite TV series?
My guilty pleasures… Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders.
What's your favourite musical?
I couldn’t possibly choose one… I love the old musicals like Singing in the Rain, The Sound of Music and Little Women. At the minute, I am really interested in Tim Minchin, the music and lyrics he created for Matilda the Musical were fabulous and he is very funny.
What's your favourite song from a musical?
Either… Sutton Foster – Astonishing or Barbara Streisand – Rain on my Parade.
What made you start performing?
Performing is something I have always enjoyed. The first Christmas I was old enough to remember, my mum bought me a karaoke machine and I loved it, but… I couldn’t read! My mum had to sit beside me and whisper the lyrics just in time for me to come in. After only a couple of weeks I knew all the lyrics off by heart. Celine Dion – My heart will go on was my favourite.
Finally, give a funny/ interesting story about a performance you have given...
The first show I took part in was at primary school, the year six production of Grease. I rehearsed none stop for the part of Sandy. I cried for weeks when I found out I was cast as Rizzo! Looking back, the sassy character actually suited me much better and singing ‘Look at Me I’m Sandra Dee’ was great fun!
